Like to see what mel thinks of that answer!!!
Me i wanted to be a vet or a nurse - vet was kaput cos then i might have come into contact with snakes, nurse was kaput when the epilepsy came back and my doc said no factory working, no nursing, no working with machinery or kids - basically told me all i would be able to do would be office work.

It actually means any male (of any species) that has "siring" as its main occupation; round here we have quite a few equine stud farms. You could have been kinder to Lancsdave and called him a stallion.

Well most studs just do the job and have no input with the bringing up of the pups, and as to be a sire means to be a father, I dont quite agree with that, but ok.

Re: When you were younger...
Anyway....back to the thread.
I wanted to be a farmer when I was young. More specifically I wanted to be a farmer's wife - a rich farmer's wife. To be honest there was a fairly rich farmer who quite fancied me when I was in my teens but he was 20 years older than me and I wasn't interested in him - how daft can you be?
I ended up as a Civil Servant.

I wanted to be a lollypop lady an start work when I was 65. Apart from that all I ever wanted out of life was to be a wife and Mother.

You will be able to find many adverts online and in pet shops that refer to dogs as studs, I know, it used to be my job to stick them on the board when it was pouring down with rain.
