Whinney Hill Road..............

Does anyone know what they are doing on the land opposite Sherwood Way....? they have been levelling it with a JCB for a couple of days now.

Don't know but theres some deep shafts under there, we had a couple of trailers that the legs fell through when parked on there whilst fully loaded

Has anyone any idea where the new industrial units to be built on the old brickworks site will be located...? could this be on the land i have mentioned or do the shafts mentioned by KSH completely rule this out......?

just out of curiosity,did the shafts from the owd Altham pit run that way? or even the Huncoat Pit.

Accrington Library used to have maps of the old coal workings.
