Still got to be Yates's on Henry st. Church. They are always trying out different things while keeping the old favourites. Proper old fashioned bakers.
There's a pie shop that my dad goes to a few times a month on the way to Preston (just before you get there), they sell the most amazing pies ever, pastry doesn't get on with my tummy but their pastry for some reason does
Can always remember the first time I worked in Scotland went into the chippy and of course fish and chips are known as a fish supper, one of the lads didn't want a fish supper, he wanted meat pie and chips, the woman serving asked if he wanted it warm or cold, warm please was the reply, at which the lady tossed the pie in the deep fat fryer
What I don't understand is why a thread about pies is stuck in Accy Photos -there isn't even a photo of a pie on it! Or am I missing something -perhaps it's a withdrawal symptom -can't get pies in Italy...
