There's a little pie shop in Church, called Yates. In my opinion they make the best pies, as well as t/cakes etc. Give it a try.

Love hollands steak and kidney puddings, used to like Greens (Ossy) they made great meat and potato pies. Went off them when an acquaintance of mine told me that he used to spit in the pastry mixer whenever his boss told him off.

Pies piccy.
I put it there Tealeaf, cos its a LOCAL view, local history in the making. They have been in existence since 1851 and ... anyway .... I work there! I might even get you some pies for your next visit home to Church!!!!

Hollands used to be the best round here but I think Clayton park are better now, especially the potato. Never tried one? go to chippy on Moscow mill st, near bubble factory, they only sell theirs now, used to have Claytons and hollands but ended up not selling the hollands so they stopped getting them.

Re: Who makes the best pies??
I do like Cissy Green's meat pies - made in Haslingden. Very thin pastry.
I think there are far better pies than Holland's. I don't know the name of the Preston firm's I like.
I am keen on snake and pigmy pies and puddings.
