The families always pay the highest price, and not just the immediate families, trauma from war can be spread over a number of generations and continue for years after the politicians have shook hands

Re: Who pays for war?
I notice that Blair's eldest son was nowhere near the front line, tucked up nice and save at home, at least one of the Royals was in at the sharp end.

Re: Who pays for war?
We all pay for war in our taxes.
Governments order arms and ammunition from manufacturers who then supply the initial order. These are stored until needed.
When all the store rooms are full they need to rotate stock just like any other business.
The amount of money spent on arms each month, by the USA alone, could erradicate starvation and poverty throughout the world if only we had leaders with the resolve to achieve it.
Make poverty history?
No, make greed history!

Re: Who pays for war?
Who pays for wars? I heard a news report fairly receently which suggested that we have at long last made the final payment to Germany for the second world war.. Still dont understand why the winners pay the price for a war they didnt start. Some of the other warss since world war 2 have been as much about oil as anything else, and as such, whoever benefits most from it should pay for it, but not with the lives of our soldiers, get Blair and Bush on the front line for a start, see how much the oil means to them then.

I think you'll find that was a final payment to the Americans in payment for Lease/Lend?

All wars should be settled by politicians in Sumo suits.
