I don't think they hibernate........there is one who does the windows where I live and we see him every two weeks...rain, hail or snow.

Re: Windowcleaners

Maxwell Silver , you beat me to it , Only today I was thinking about posting a thing in the nostalgia thread, asking how many folks still have a window cleaner or is it a job that has gone the way of mopping and stoning the front step.
My Grandma allways used to leave his money on the upstairs outside windowsill to make sure he had been ,her thinking was if he climbed the ladder for his money he would do the windows while he was up the ladder

Have you seen one, or know of anyone in the area in the last few months?

If not then the 'goodwill' that he had has gone, you could therefore employ anyone that was prepared to, to do them.

Basiclally it's just like having your milkman not deliver for a while, you'd go and ask another one. It is is or can be a very territorial business depending on where you live, i will say however the WC who turned around and said no as he was too busy is inviting anyone onto his patch with statements like that! I KNOW, IT'S WHAT I DOO FOR A JOB!!

Re: Windowcleaners

Mine comes from burnley. The one who used to do them didnt come round for about 6 months and i saw this one doing the pubs and asked him to do mine. About 3 month after he started doing them the old window cleaner came round and i told him i had a new window cleaner but the best one was he said he had been round that i hadnt just seen him and when he came to get paid that no one was in the house - big mistake - mum never went out unless it was a hospital appointment or we'd made arrangements for respite. She'd never seen him. Really lit into him then. He didnt even say sorry for it either just stalked off and aint seen that one since.
