I wish we did have a sock monster who ate them in our house. Instead what we have is a small boy who likes to take his socks off and leave them all around the house. He leaves them in the centre of the living room and the hallway, he also likes to put them in less obvious places so that you can be sat watching tv and notice hidden under the cushion a school sock.

Perhaps we should invent something like the mittens that were attached together by a long piece of elastic that you had to thread up your sleeve round the neck and down the other ... didn't lose one though ...

Not sure if would be very comfortable for the men however threading up through one leg, over the 'you know whats' and down the other leg.

Well, they might come back as a fashion someday ..everything goes full cycle .. more interesting for us women (wil comment no further) Solve the problem of lost socks too.
