Re: XL Airways........
We went away with XL earlier this year and there were obviously problems - we were told by the owner of the apartments that we stayed in that XL never paid its bills on time.

Re: XL Airways........
I went on one of their Malta holidays, I booked for 4 weeks but came home after 2.
Restaurant hygiene was horrendously awful. I got bad 'trots' - some guests got hospitalised.
I wont miss that holiday company

Re: XL Airways........
I've never been able to understand where the line is drawn between 'bad business' and fraud , its one thing to get overtaken by unforseen circumstances , but its quite another to keep on trading with a business plan that says oil/fuel costs will be X , when the truth is fuel costs are three or four times your projections , and to just keep taking monies from customers to pay off old debts is nothing more than a pyramid scam ....which I believe is illegal

Re: XL Airways........
Nik's friend was going to Florida, with her partner and their daughter and her parents, next month with XL. They paid by credit card so they will be reimbursed, thank goodness, as they've paid over £5000. I feel so sorry for those who've lost their money and also those who are/have been stranded abroad. It's the usual story, by all accounts, this firm has been in trouble for some time but they've kept on taking bookings, in other words clients' money, right up to the day before they collapsed.
MargaretR, please do tell where you stayed in Malta that was so dire. I'm only asking out of sheer nosyness, I know it's not where I stay.

Re: XL Airways........
Westender I heard they were still taking money off people the day before, it is an absolute disgrace. You can bet the directors aren't going without their holidays

Contact you`re visa company and they will advise you on the process, it usually involves sending copies of documents and receipts off to them.
