Accrington Home Guard

Does anyone know where I could find a list of names of the men who were in the Accrington home guard during the second world war.

My dad was in the Home Guard.....he was on fire watching duties at Howard and Bulloughs....they wouldn,t trust him with a rifle....

The home guard records have not yet been released into the public domain - they are due to be released in 2009 I believe. There is a Homeguard website - not sure it is actually called that but if you type in Homeguard you should get it. I am sure they will be able to help.

Have just discovered there is a website called Rootschat - all information on how to get details about people who served in the Home guard is on there. Hope this helps.

My Dad was in the Home Guard in Accrington his name was Jonah Rigby but that is all I know
