No - his elder brother is Brian, who worked at Nori all his life.

Why was Alan called "Diz"? I first met him in Form 1A at AGS in August 1954. His fame as a schoolboy footballer had preceded him. He was a nice man. What more can one say or need to say?

Yes - Dizzi. He sometimes did give off an impression of being 'slow' but was far from it. However, I think the name arose out of schoolboys' liking for alliteration. When I was in 1A, we created similar nicknames.
