Any Ashworths with CLM roots out there?
Hi, how far back can you go? Have you ever heard the name Lawrence Ashworth. He was a block printer at Oakenshaw Print Works - he married a Mary Butterworth of Rishton. He went to America i(Rhode Island) in the mid 1800's. If he could be a rellie of yours, I have loads of really good stuff about him.

Re: Any Ashworths with CLM roots out there?
Hoping someone can help me find information regarding my ancestors. Both of the Ashworth and Street families. My father is Sydney Ashworth, his father iwas Harold Ashworth and mother Ethel Ashworth (nee Street). They lived at 21 Park St, Accrington his siblings were, Arthur, Dorothy, Fred and Peggy. My great grandfather's were David Ashworth who resided at 42 Spencer St - he was Harold's father, my other great grandfather was Sydney Street a special constable in the Accrington constabulary, my father has his police baton which has 1914-1935 engraved on it. If anyone can be of any help I would really appreciate it, I live in Cairns, Queensland Australia so it is a long way from there which makes it difficult to access any information.

My Grandma is called Peggy Ashworth. I don't know about the other family members other than my uncle howard who still lives with her and my mum maxine. I've never looked at the rest of the family tree...it could be the same peggy but i'm unsure because I don't know if she had ever married my granddad or not.

Re: Any Ashworths with CLM roots out there?
A lady called Mrs Ashworth used to look after me and my brother while my mum was at work in the 60s. She lived on Sparth Avenue in Clayton
