Daniel Barnes c1825 Church Accrington

Hi Guys,

Hoping someone out there may be able to help??

My x4 grandfather was a Daniel Barnes born c 1825 occ: cutler.
He says on the 1891 census that he was born Church Accrington.
Sometime prior to 1861(cannot find him 1841/51) he moved to gateshead Co Durham, settled and raised a family, he died there 1907.

There are 2 possibilities on the IGI BUT which one??

Hoping to find researchers of the name 'Barnes' or pointers in the right direction.

regards

Lucy

Re: Daniel Barnes c1825 Church Accrington

Barnes may well have been a common name in this area.
There was a practice to name streets after people.
There are 3 streets named Barnes St - in Church, Accrington, and Clayton-le-Moors. When I lived on Barnes St Church, mail was often misdelivered between the 3.
Church is a small community and has a very ancient parish church - St James - which is still operational, and may well have some parish records of his birth.

Red face Re: Daniel Barnes c1825 Church Accrington

Hi mariam,

Have tried Ancestry and Genes but no luck
There are a couple on genes but they are none the wiser as to his parents either..

Am getting some help from some members on here though.

Thanks for replying
