Eighteenth Century Benson Family

Hi. I am researching Benson family history, and I would be glad to hear from anyone who can help me. The furthest back I can get is Henry Benson (b.1770) who married Jane Hacking in 1790. They had a son John - my ancestor - in 1791. Family events (Christenings, weddings) took place in St James Church. However I cannot find any record of Henry's parents, place where he was christened etc. Even the excellent Lancashire Online Parish Clerk website cannot help.

The family included farm labourers, and John later owned his own farm. The family moved to Clough Bottom and Baxenden - but this was after Henry's time.

Does anyone know anything about Henry Benson?
