Family History
Hi All
As I live in Sydney, Australia, I was wondering if a local resident of Accrington may be able to help me? I am trying to locate the birth records of an ancestor, William Swindail, who was born about 1855. The only details I have of him are contained on his 1884 Australian Marriage Certificate and his 1918 Australian Death Certificate. They indicate he was born in Church, Lancashire (I believe near Accrington) about 1855, to parents William Swindail and Elizabeth LEES. I have all his Australian details, its just the English details that elude me. I cannot find his birth, or parents marriage in the on-line English Freebmd site, LDS site or any English Census. Unfortunately, the spelling of surname may differ, and could also be either Swindells, Swindale, Swindall etc. I was hoping somebody might be able to gain access to local parish records for this time, or point me in the right direction to find some information.
