Heagney, Hughes, Hindle, Clarkson, Walton
Does anyone know the family of Francis & Mary Jane (Hughes) Heagney.
They lived at 8 Culvert Street
They had 3 daughters- Doris, Frances, Sylvia.
Doris married James Hindle
Sylvia married John Walton.
Frances married Mandel Chilson and moved to the US.
Francis was born is Accrington in 1888, his parents were James Heagney and Margaret Clarkson.
Researching a family tree, where no one kept records or even talked about it.
Thank you
Deb

Re: Heagney, Hughes, Hindle, Clarkson, Walton
I have a friend called Heagney in New Hampshire. From what I recall, he is descended froma family from, or his mother was from, Dukinfield or Stalybridge. I shall tell him about your enquiry. I will PM you. Why didn't they realise how awkward it is having a Francis and a Frances.? (Be frank about it)

Your Francis HEAGNEY enlisted in the Accrington Pals in September 1914, he is in the list of men that went to Caernarvon, then he disappears.
The next entry for Francis is in the A.V.L. 1918. as Pte. 390721. A.S.C. 8 Culvert St, Accrington.
The A.V.L. is wrong the number 390721 A.S.C. is not in the Medal Cards WO372/9.
Retlaw.

Re: Heagney, Hughes, Hindle, Clarkson, Walton
Thank you, I knew about the Accrington Pals- but you are right about the disappears, I cannot find his death certificate anywhere- my mother thinks she recalls, her mother-Frances saying he died very young- around 30. I did wonder if he just left, maybe to the US or somewhere else, strange how even on lancashirebmd.org.uk, I can find birth, marriage, no death! I know Mary Jane his wife stayed in Accrington until her death.
Thanks for your time and the information.
