John Arthur McCall

I know this is highly unlikely but I'm wondering if anyone knew a John Arthur McCall who lived in Clayton-le-Moors in the late 1940s. He would have been in his 30s then.

Re: John Arthur McCall

I've had a look in my 1951 Barrett's Directory - no McCall in Clayton or Accrington. Aged 30, he may have had children, now around 70yrs, in local schools.

Re: John Arthur McCall

Thanks, Bob. He had moved away from Clayton by 1948 - he was living in Waterfoot by then. He may possibly have been a teacher in the Clayton area for a time in the late 1940s.

Re: John Arthur McCall

Have a look at this website, which lists Births, Marriages & Deaths in Lancashire after 1837 - over 4million entries:-

UKBMD - Births, Marriages, Deaths Indexes & Census Transcriptions Online for UK Family History and Genealogy

Correction - this covers the whole country, but I think there is a Lancashire section or link. If not -Google Lancashire BMDs
