John Guinane Loyal North Lancs and Family

Hi all looking for further information about this chap John Guinane

I have found his Attestation 6th March 1901
Born in Nenagh Ireland
Residence at time of Joining is given as 35 Charter Street
Place of work Howard and Bullough
Age 18years 3 months.
Shows he was at Fullwood Barracks in 1903 attached ? to the Drill and Training
I think his regimental number was 7522 (on the document)
I have seen the 1911 census and from this I believe he died prior to the census.
I havent been able to find any information regard his death closest match I have seen is a John Guinane death in Poona but this gives Royal Dublin Fuseliers as his Regiment.
Take it easy and thanks in advance
Pete

Sorry.
I can't help with this one, there are no Guinane's or Guinans in my files. You might get more from Fulwood, but there's a long wait time, and they charge a fee for research, even if they don't find any thing.

John Guinane was born in Ireland and whilst he joined up and was trained in Preston he may well have been posted to serve with an Irish Regt - in fact he may have requested to be transferred.

Thanks and sorry I thought I had responded to this .... John did indeed do his training at Fulwood Barracks Preston . he was with the North Lancs and transferd to The East Lancs.
He died in Poona India in 1904 If memory serves me right he died from cholera. His parents were left about £3.60 of wages /personal effects.
