[ OH sorry and little ole me on the wing Pete Johnson (Johnny as it was then).[/quote]
Good lord Mr Johnson, I remember you and your mucker Pete Stephens from St Nicholas (and St Andrews?). You were something of an accomplished warbler too as I recall, at least Messrs Chew and Adcroft thought so.

Re: Moorhead High School

stumbled across this one

Mr Mchale

Remember in one history lesson, some asian kid was tapping his pen in front of Mchale when he was talking. After a while he lost his temper and grabbed his exercise book and launched it across the room in a fit of anger cos the kid kept tapping his pen. Poor lad.

Mr. Greenhalgh

Was he the german teacher who was kinda cool and not your normal teacher

What was the old strict guy who taught history - not mchale or green - but gave a detention in my 2nd lesson!

Mr Green

Still makes me LOL when he called my mate 'nitball' in class. Then my mate threatened to sue him.

Mrs Walmsley

She had an obsession with giving me conkers

Mr Law

PE teacher - but was he the red hed one or the balding one with a tash?

Mr Mooney

Maths teacher who gave me detention just for not turning up for 5 minutes after school.

What was the name of the biggish science teacher with blond hair?

Miss Cruise (I think)

Blond teacher who all the lads fancied and taught music. We used to joke that her and Mr White were getting it on.

Mr Clayton - wasn't as old as everyone thought - he gave me millions of detentions

Mr Law

PE teacher - but was he the red hed one or the balding one with a tash?

Mr Law was the balding one - Keith Windle was the other one.

My sister used to teach at Moorhead in the 70s. I think she was there when it was still the girls' high school, but I'm not sure.

It was definitely Accrington High School for Girls in 1969. That was when I left.

It changed in 1975 Willow, my second year. I was at the Grammar School 74 - 79.
