Old pals lost
Having recently found and joined this site, and read many old posts, it really does jog the grey matter into action. Those many days as school-friends spent in the woods, pinching apples, days roaming Accrington and Ossy—the Clough and further, Priesley Clough and further, Whiteash, all these places. Our eight weeks summer hols really were good!
Getting older and braver—Knowlemere St, Accie Con, Springhill, Ossy Empire, Mecca Burnley and Blackburn.
Older still and we start to move away, lose our old friends, have different relationships and priorities.
Only in older years do we rethink our past, remind ourselves of our younger days.
Where are we all now?
Do any of us keep in touch if only from a distance?
Old boys and Old Girls organisations—are we members? Do we know of the existence of these organisations?
I myself am about to join agsob. I am surprised as to how so few of my old long lost friends are members!
Where are you now?

Re: Old pals lost
I remember you from back then, but not as mates just remember seeing you around in those days, there are quite a lot of people on this site from our era who bob on from time to time, from all over the world, you do get to know um eventually

Re: Old pals lost
I'll probably be from your era: Accy Grammar '57 to '64, that would be from 1L to 6A2 ... doesn't seem all that long ago They should have handed out t-shirts when we left: "I Survived Sam Wignall" would have been a good one

Re: Old pals lost
I would have certainly worn that t-shirt!!
Also a t-shirt from bow legged Bentley would have been welcome--will never forget those cross country runs!!

Don't really remember if I ran into them ... possibly 'cause I was drunk at the time; that would be most of the time
I think it's time for the formation of a sub-group of AGSOB: let's call them the Old Wignallians In order to join one must have been caught without a cap by Sam; have been humiliated in class by him; and have been introduced to the joys of Rugby by him.

If you had taken a baseball bat to him, the bat would have come off second best Most definitely a brick outhouse.

Re: Old pals lost
Sam's favourite quote " Hoy laddie where's your cap" heard from 50 yards away.
