Mez, I thought Holy Family only opened in 1960, does Mt Carmel have a website that goes back to Holy Family days?. I remember Bishop Beck opening it.

Mez, Bishop Beck was a very buisy man in those days he opened just about every new school and church, confirmed every body, the catholic churches were full in those days, the clergy kept there distance, and demanded respect, same with most of the nuns.

Re: old school friends

I think the first thing that should happen is teachers should start dressing like teachers again...men in tweed jackets with leather elbow patches, cavalry twill trousers and brown brogues. They should carry their pipe in their left hand pocket and chalk to chuck at errant kids in their right pocket. It should be compulsory for women teachers to carry a handbag.

Once teachers start to dress properly, then they will start to get the respect they ask.
