Oswaldtwistle Immanuel Burials
I have learned of a website which contains details of all burials at Immanuel 1850-1900; www.familysearch.org It is a Mormon site. The Hyndburn branch of the Lancashire Family History SDociety is working on the church's parish registers and already has almost 10,000 names logged. They plan to issue a CD. I will report when it is is published.

Re: Oswaldtwistle Immanuel Burials
Life after death. I suspect that the sexton at Immanuel will have one. If the graveyard is locked - ring me. I have a skeleton key.

Re: Oswaldtwistle Immanuel Burials
it's for Holden Entwistle, died 1891. according to the online records he is in bay 36 grave 30 but I spoke to the sexton today who apparently had excellent knowledge of the graveyard and he told me that area wasn't in use till 1927...

Sorry, I have no further info. Trawling through the Accrington Observer is a possibility. I'm not sure if Lancashire BMD will assist

The last time I enquired about a burial at that grave yard I was told all the records are now at the Public Record Office in Preston.

If so, it should be possible to check on line - Google 'Lancashire Archives'

Re: Oswaldtwistle Immanuel Burials
I've done that, the records are there( Preston) but the sexton seemed to know his stuff, there clearly seems to be a disjoin between what he knows and what is in the records.

May be the sexton doe's know his stuff but I would prefer documentary evidence that his word, he will only know wht he was told by the previous sexton, and so on, its a big gap between 1927 and now and things get garbled over the years. could the bay numbers be wrong in his version.
