Question Photo by courtesy of Patricia Lythe Maclaren

I recently saw an old picture taken in Avenue Parade, probably in 1921. In it was one of the Lythe family standing at the door of the firms new Ford van.
The family owned a sweet (candy) factory at the rear of 36 Park Street, Accrington, well known for its "Koff Tipps". However, no one appears to
remember either the Lythes or their factory. The picture seen in the Accrington Pals section was provided by a lady called Patricia Lythe Maclaren. Has anyone any additional information about the family or factory, (now a printers), please?

Hi, here is a lovely photo, compliments of Owd Bert, showing the Lythes factory. Its sort of behind the chippy area on Plantation Street

I remember the Lythes in the 1950's - 60's. They lived in the corner house of Park Street and the back street of Plantation Street. If I remember rightly they used to keep pug dogs.
