Simpson

I'm wondering if anyone could help me.
Im doing my family tree and came across a relation in the 1851 census as living at dyke nook called elizabeth simpson.

I don't know how to do it myself, but looking up census details is easy - Retlaw will probably fix you up with details from the 1841 and 1851 censuses.
The book 'Accrington Chronology & Men of Mark' has references to Simpsons who owned Foxhill Bank printworks & coalmines. This was a prominent Ossie family.

Aye, the best known being Simpson the Veggie....also has Canal Bridge 111d (behind the Commercial) named after him.

if dyke nook is the little cul-de-sac up whalley rd on right, before hospital was a Simpson lived yon until 1959, then they moved to "Brentwood" in Essex, the son peter sat next to me junior school n we were great mates, used to visit that house regular, think the road they moved to in Brentwood was called "Doddinghurst Rd" its oer 50 yrs ago so lost all contact details.

have to apologise teresa2010, this simpson lived on lime rd, was another of me classmates John Mitchell lived Dyke Nook, his family emigrated to New Zealand around the same time. perhaps their parents moved em well away from me. 50 yrs n me memory aint that great.
