Tony Westell

I’m not sure if any of Anthony (Tony) Westell’s old mates are still around, but it is with much sadness I write that Tony lost the battle he had so courageously fought and passed away peacefully during Friday night.

Tony lived at No 11 Spring Street, Accrington, and in 1957 at the age of 18 emigrated with his family to South Australia. If you knew him perhaps you will pause for a moment to remember him.

Re: Tony Westell

Likely that Tony was born in 1939. He didn't attend the Grammar School, so maybe he attended the Tech in Union Rd, Hyndburn Park, or St Mary's in Blackburn if the family was RC. F. Westell started at the Grammar School in 1951. M Westell started in 1957 and J Westell in 1959. Was Spring Hill also a senior school ?

Re: Tony Westell

Yes, he was born in 1939. He didn't go to a technical college, but Hyndburn Park (is that a Primary School?) strikes a chord as I think one of his brothers went there, so assume he did also. Don't know which senior school he attended. Tony was my brother-in-law.
