Smile Tracing John Butler of Jubilee Street Accrington. Please help!

Hi there. I'm really hoping that someone can help me trace my family. My name is Paula Simpson. My mother was Pauline Simpson nee Butler. She was the sister of John Butler from Jubilee Road/street Accrington. She married my father Peter Simpson in the mid 60's and moved to Preston. She had my brother Peter in 1967 and me in 1968. My mother became very ill not long after having me and moved back to Jubilee Street. My older brother stayed in Preston and I was placed with several foster families in Accrington. My mum died in 1971 and her death was unusual in that she drowned in the bath. This was reported in local papers. My Dad remarried and my mum was rarely spoken about. I have only one photo of her and no pics of me or my brother with her. I'm really keen to trace her family. I'm sure she only had one brother John. I've noticed that he's mentioned in posts by jimandsue and jaysay so someone knew of him. I'd be so grateful for any assistance. Regards. Paula Simpson.

This street isn't in Accrington, but is probably the one in Ossie as you mention Jayay. Where did the Butlers live ? I was at school with Peter Butler from Ossie , now 75ish. It would be useful for you to see the directories in Accrington library which will tell who was living in Jubilee St in 1960s. Also, visit the Lancashire Family History Society's rooms in The Straits, Ossie Thursday afternoons You will be given some help. See the society's website.

No I don't know.

I will ask him when you have done some more research and built up a family tree.

The Peter Butler Bob is talking about, born in 1940, his mother was called Lord. Wrong family, sorry. John and Pauline's mother was called Howson.

Is there not a Jubilee st/Rd at the end of Hyndburn Rd? The houses that are set back from the road at the junction with Dill Hall Lane.
