Its a 40litre tank, I'm not sure what size is it so I will go and measure it just as soon as I can find a tape measure

At 40ltr it can't be that big, 2 x 20ltr jerry cans side by side, would probably give you an idea of size Shaz & heaters aren't over expensive if you have to buy one.

Ok. A cubic foot of water contains 28.375 litres of water, so a 40 litre tank is not going to be much bigger than 12x12x16 inches
