I dont know if you can use it for a multiroom thing. It is good for watch sky tele and movies and other chennels. I bought the box as I present for my gran at Christmas because she said hers was working correctly. But then I find there's nothing wrong with hers.

these boxes are sought after by people with holiday homes in spain so thatthey can recieve uk tv stations 1,2,3,4 and 5 although ime not sure if sky are still giving out the cards tgat enable this for free anynore

It was a sky box, a sky box is a sky box isn't it, shame you sold it i would of grabbed that at double that price, panasonic boxes are the most reliable, I paid 80 for a pace box when the piece of amstrad crap that they gave me free packed up a week after the 12 month warranty finished.
