Can I suggest to you Steven that you state whether you want a slate bed or wood. If you are serious about the game, you should only buy a slate bed which can be set up to the standard of pubs and clubs but a wood base is for "fun" only.
Another thing to consider is whether the table is going to be left in one position or moved out of the way. Slate beds (even 6ft. are HEAVY!!) and require many minutes to "level out." before playing ...and are far more expensive!
If you want a slate bed, I suggest that you make enquiries with a publican with regard to suppliers to the pub trade (Staggerman perhaps?) You may be able to pick up a used table at a reasonable cost, remember that a "re-cloth" will set you back a minimum of £120-00 but is well worth it if you enjoy the game
