Re: scanner 5 pounds

Most scanners use standard TWAIN drivers so it shouldn't be a problem getting it to talk to image software. As for power 95% of stuff is 12V now so you just need to find one that 'fits' the socket(Obviously check the scanner as its shoudl say what voltage it is but I'd be surprised to find many that aren't 12V).

I have an old SCSI scanner here Free to good hoem to anyone who wants to collect it. Again, I can't find the PSU but if its free.......

Re: scanner 5 pounds

A lot of the time finding power supplies is a real headache, and for some appliances can cost a lot of money - sometimes in excess of £50.

So to the person who tried to deduct karma for a 'pointless post', that was what I was alluding to. imo it would be a false economy to buy a scanner for a fiver, then spend huge amounts of money on a power supply, when you can pick up cheap scanners for around £30.

i fully agree. but when you buy something you weigh up the pros and cons. if you had everything but no scanner it would be a bargain.
