Shaving brush
Does anyone know where I can get a decent shaving brush in Accy? My current one is almost on it's way out. I got it from Wilko's about 3 years ago for the princely sum of 49p, so it was money well spent. However, when I looked in there on saturday I could not see any & I certainly don't want to pay thirty or forty quid for one, which seems to be the price down here.
I don't use shaving foam or gel as this type of lubrication is fit only for the gay community and I have never used an electric razor, which again is fit only for those undergoing trans-gender reassignment - so don't bother with these suggestions. However, if you can point me in the right direction I'll buy you a pint (or half a mild if you're a young lady).
Cheers.

Re: Shaving brush
You won't get real badger for three quid.
Get into Trumper's when you get back to London you tight wad.
You could try an old fashioned pharmacists, if there are any left where you are in Accy. They might have some dusty pre-war stock, priced up in pounds, shilling and pence for you.

Last time I was up St James St, Thrumper's brushes started at thirty-five quid for the smallest; I think most of that was payment for the fake ivory and gold handle and Thrumper's label.
I don't want 'owt fancy - just something that does the job.
So be serious. And yes, I have tried Bootes - last night, and I saw nowt - other than the fact they seem well stocked up in Brut aftershave, which is flying off the shelves once again. I think I've got a bit left from last time round.

Re: Shaving brush
I bought one I use for stencilling I bought for next to nothing from that place in the Arcade.
The stock changes all the time so they may not have them now.
I'd do a tour of the pound shops, one of them is bound to have a cheap shaving brush.

Now, now....that may be the sort of thing people get up to in Ossy but most of us can think of better things to do in life than inserting shaving tackle up bodily orifices.

Re: Shaving brush
Watford Gap isn't a bodily orifice.

Re: Shaving brush
I'd forgotten all about those things. My father's used to live in a dish next to the kitchen sink when we lived in Holland Street. (No bathroom then!)
You could try to grow a beard..........

Re: Shaving brush
Or...........you could grow a beard, cut it and then use the bristles to create your own shaving brush?
