Tin smiths

Are there and tin smiths or anyone in engineering that could do me a favour ?
i need a simple job doing 2 strips of sheet steel 18"x 1" x 1/16 or 1/8 thick
like the drawing if possable willing to pay if its not going to cost too much

There is a engineering works on Wellington street Clayton le Moors. The doctors are across the road and when I have been waiting for my wife I see people with bits of steel plate etc going in to the works. maybe try them, I don't know the name

Anything like that I go to to a place on Fairfield St, think its called east lancs engineering, go in the yard entrance on Exchange St

Pollards on Jacob St, Accrington, I've had sheet metal off them, they usually have loads of off cuts behind the guilotines.

There is a water jet metal cutters in Lancaster, well worth trying them. They can cut any shape and have the materials on site on most occasions. Mail order too i think if needed. Ill be heading up next week if that helps.

I'd use a couple of bits of banding strap and punch the holes in with a nail

most folks I know (of a certain age) keep a bit of banding strap and a wire coat hanger in the trunk(boot) of their vehicle , comes usefull when opening locked car doors for ditzy women on supermarket car parks
