Re: undated 20p on ebay (mine)
just got me hands one one of these and did a bit of research
what did yours eventually go for?
it is the london mint company that is offering the £50 NOT the royal mint the london mint company is a consortium of coin collectors seking to cap the selling price of these coins and get their hands on as many as they can to sell at an inflated price to collectors
originally the offer was only open to the first 10000 people who sold their coins to the consortium very shortly afterwards the added another 15000 opportunities to sell up
proof that given time these coins will be worth a mint themselves
anyone willing to part with ooooooh lets say start the bidding at a cool million send me a pm and maybe we can do business lol

Ive seen a few ordinary one get sold for a little more than what they are worth. Might start randomly listing the coins that I get, might make a couple of quid

Re: undated 20p on ebay (mine)
I personally think it should be illegal to sell 'ordinary, common' coins for more than their actual worth.
Tickets for festivals normally have T&Cs stating they can't be sold for more than what they are worth (if they are permitted to by sold on at all) and I think this should apply to things like money as well. It undermines the entire concept of cash value if you can sell it for more than it is actually worth, it's absolutely ridiculous, especially when the justification of it is 'well people should read things properly'... yes, they definitely should, but that also indicates that people are taking advantage out of people who don't know any better, and if it was done of the scale of big business, I'd like to think more of a fuss would be made.
Exploitation isn't nice in any given situation and I think to justify one kind but disapprove of another is inconsistent at too many levels for me!
