I don't know if you have transport but I know there's one going free on the preston facebook site entitled 'Things for Sale or Wanted or Free in Preston'. I know it's a bit of a trek, but thought worth mentioning.

Also try carboot/jumble sales. They were my saviour when I used to run a rodent rescue project!
