Re: wanted mouse

Can I just mention that I find it quite strange that people will put up with cheap mice/keyboards/screens. These are the only parts of a computer that you interact with. A good quality mouse/trackball and keyboard will give you a much 'better' experience of using a computer particularly if you are on it a lot.

How many people have even tried an alternative to the ubiquitous mouse? I find people are generally wired slight ly different and after using one for a short while a loit of people prefer trackballs as their hand doesn't need to move and teh body of teh trackball provides support so less chance of RSI.

Re: wanted mouse

cheap mice dont last 5 mins i shoudl know ive killed plenty before realising it was actualy costing more money buying teh cheap nasty 5 quid ones

save up a bit and get a lazer ps2 microsoft mouse

dont bother with any other brand and dont bother with usb all they do is take up a valuable usb slot that you could be using for your ipod/printer/mobile phone etc and their is no noticable difference between usb and the good old ps2 connection

i think my microsoft mouse cost 20 quid

Re: wanted mouse

I like Logitech mice. Some of the Microsoft ones are a little too big a numb.
I have an expensive trackball but done use it often. I find them harder to use but I think it's what your used too. I bought some at work a few years ago for PC's on trolleys as their was not enough room for a mouse, they were great for the job.

Re: wanted mouse

Chav, just a point, not all PCs come with PS2 sockets anymore. Most of the Dells at work don't have them. Laptops have tended to do without them for a good few years now.

It shouldn't be an issue anyway now as 4 ports is the lowest number of USB connections I've seen and a basic hub is only a few quid.

Re: wanted mouse

suppose it depends on what you have thats usb , my pc has 6 standard usb slots and they are all used up

if you buy a decent ps2 mouse most of them come with a ps2 to usb adapter anyway so you got a choice at least

as for dell not comong with a ps2 slot well what can i say but " typical dell crap " and as far as i know its only them ive heard of so far doing this this and its probably just a cost cutting exercise rather than any benefit to the user
