Re: Washing Machine

I used to rent, many moons ago, from Vogue Electrics in Gt Harwood. signed up with them at a time when I had absolutely no cash and needed a washer urgently. no problems with their service, but they were never new machines, in fact quite old.

Nowadays I wouldn't consider renting. You can buy a second hand washer for under a hundred quid, often with a six month guarantee. Six months rental at 4 quid a week is over that, and you could get many more months after that for free. The one I have now has been working fine for over 2 years.

The only brand new one I bought about 15 years ago broke down several times during the warranty, and then again just afterwards.

The cheapest washer in Argos is £156.49 with a 12 months warrenty. If you pay £4 a week that is £208 each and every year.

You can pay £69.99 for 3 years breakdown cover, that brings the total to £156.49 + £69.99 = £226.15

£4 per week for 3 years = £624

So over 3 years you would save £397.85 which is £2.55 per week.

while i save up for that i would have to use the laundrette, £2 a wash plus taxi there and back comes to more than £4 a week....

When you say it has stopped spinning what do you mean Shaz?

Has it stop going round altogether or does it work except when it comes to a spin cycle. Had it emptied or did it still have water in it.
