The only place I can think of where to get something like this is the museum of The Queen's Lancashire Regiment at Fulwood Barracks in Preston.  I know that they have an extensive medal collection including several Victoria Crosses.

There are plenty of books on www.amazon.co.uk

In the search box put in world war medals, and there are around 45 books to look at. Some of them are WW1

You can buy them second hand on amazon aswell sometimes. I got one for around 3.50!
