13 Month Year?
Whilst daydreaming at work on friday I mused as to why the calendar is not based on 28 day months as per womens' monthly cycles.
You'd end up with 13 months of equal days and the four seasons would have 13 weeks.
I mean really, it's no wonder the number 13 is as miffed off as it is when it is not being used as often as it should be!
Every now and agin you could still have the leap years etc, which should be celebrated and given as an extra bank holiday?
And whilst we are at it, do modern day astronomers, scientists, day dreamers not have a more accurate way of maintaining time? The Gregorian Calendar was not as infallible as it reckoned itself to be as every 400 years we have to lose 3 days! Betcha didn't know that did you? The day is lost on Century years that are divisible by 100 but not by 400, so the year 2000 was but 1900 wasn't and neither will 2100. You would think that 500 years after the event the modern calendar was invented we would have a different way of doing it. For Gawds sake we even had a Feb 30th once because of it!!!!!!!!

Re: 13 Month Year?
Wikepedia has some interesting info - shows very many calendars in worldwide use.
This one interested me
World Calendar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It appears that objections are on religious grounds
interesting thread

The Earth is just obviously in the wrong place. It wasn't meant to be here.

Re: 13 Month Year?
Maybe they should have consulted with the Federation of Master Bakers?

Re: 13 Month Year?
13 months of 4 weeks each sounds good though.

Re: 13 Month Year?
There is more chance of GW Bush admitting he went to Iraq for oil than everyone agreeing to one calander and one alone. Good in theory but to put in practice would need everyone to agree and for it to happen at the same time. Ok the Geo one is reconised but countries still follow there own.

Re: 13 Month Year?
For employers that pay monthly it would be an extra pay day.
I to wondered this a while ago and thought about getting paid weekly for an extra 4 weeks paid.
But allas my wage is annually based.
Sounds like you where busy at work on friday.

Re: 13 Month Year?
Time should be decimalised.
For me it's nearly ten past seven on my decimal clock, which you can see here on this link.

It's great, the only downside is trying to work out when to set the video for Corrie.

Never considered that its a good point. Think its down to the manufacturer with the prepack stuff though.
