I think it's all part of the control of it's people attitude the UK's government seems to want over everything. The last time anything in this vein happened in Germany was in 1987 & that was after reassessing the outcry of the public against proposed surveys planned for 1980 & 1983.

There is apparently something planned for May this year & it is to involve a random selection of the populace. The reliance on records & information already held will be the main content of the census here & nowhere near as impertinent, invasive or intrusive as the UK Census looks to be.

John, we don't make it intrusive...the ONS makes it intrusive.
We sleepwalk into giving away private information that can be used/misused if it fell into the wrong hands......let me see, what information would someone need to assume my identity? Yes, all of it that is on the census form......including stuff that would confirm my identity.......about the only thing that is left off are my bank details...but hey come the next census, if there is one, they might want those too.

Just filled it in online, what I found strange was, whenever I make a purchase or am dealing with a confidential site, the browser usually jumps up with a message telling me I'm going to a secure site.
So far as the Census, nothing appeared, so, to whomsoever now has all my details please use them carefully, I would hate it if you ended up having to pay my debts.

Yes when we go to any site , like Accy Forum the owner of that site can have software installed that can see all the browser details of history, favourites and so on and on some can see onto your computer! So at any site you go to don't leave your computer on for long periods of time as someone may be "clocking" your personal details ehh Mick?

Filled mine in, took ten mins and wasnt bad at all.
Had to fill the t'other halfs details in aswell in the "Person 2" bit as he couldnt be bothered!!

No heth its called common sense, why fill it in yourself when you can get the wife to do it for you, I did try it with my other half, but the response wasn't very good something about walking away in wet footsteps or summat
