These are alternate meanings for common words during this time of Covid.

1. Coffee (noun), The person on whom one coughs.

2. Flabbergasted (adjective), Appalled over how much weight you gained.

3. Abdicate (verb), To give up all hope of ever having a flat stomach.

4. Esplanade (verb), To attempt and explanation while drunk.

5. Willy-Nilly (Adjective) Impotent.

6. Negligent (adjective) Answering the door in your nightgown.

7. Limph (verb) To walk with a lisp.

8. Gargoyle (noun) Olive flavored mouthwash.

9. Balderdash (noun) Rapidly receding hairline.

10. Rectitude (noun) Formal dignified bearing of a Proctologist.

11. Pokemon (noun) Rastafarian Proctologist.

12. Flatulance (noun) Ambulance for anyone run over by a steamroller.

Snaccident (verb) eating accidentally….like when you pick the melted cheese crust from a cheese topped baguette without thinking you are eating something.

Cashy it is just a posh word for newly coined words…not sure it is particularly American.

beats me why people use posh words ? in fact beats the hell outa me? do they think they are clever or what? theres plenty of ordinary words they can use! dictionarys are full of em.

No Cashy….it is just the way it is….and there will be a lot of words in the dictionary that neither of us have heard of or come across.
Life is a learning experience.

Because we can mate! English is a "monumental" language, our "profundity" to express ourselves with our "immeasurable" options, only found with our English "vernacular" are second to none!

Plus it totally screws up Johnny foreigner (and admittedly some of our own), all part of being British & because obviously God was an Englishman, he blessed us with such a divine aptitude for language.
