Re: £50 Compensation For Alec

Hiya cpcman
basically what happened was my son had just left the school grounds at 4.40pm after doing a duke of Edinburgh meeting. 3 youths jumped him from behind a parked van. It turned out to be mistaken identy. 2 of the youth was cautioned as it was their first wrong doing. The 3rd was taken to court as he has a habit of beating people up.

Alec is delighted with the compo, had to explain that he will have to wait sometime to get it. Think he will be buying a pc game with it. He even mentioned keeping it in the bank towards driving lessons when he is 17. Thats only 16 months away.

I think that when you move over from Germany you'll find that if if you 'get someone to kick the f**k out of him' he'll be the one getting compensation.

£50 is a good result when you were expecting nothing Johnlove. In the UK it is quite normal to get ****** all, so yes, £50..........better than nowt.

Re: £50 Compensation For Alec

Hi John
It will probably be the lads mother that ends up paying it as the offender or youth as stated in the paperwork is only 15 and still at school.
The offender was well known to the police for violence and had always got away with cautions or community programs. This time i was adamant it went to court and he got a criminal record to add to his portfolio ! At the end of the day, muggers and rapists generally start with violence in their teens. At least with his record now, they can keep a better eye on him through the courts in later years when no doubt he offends again.

We never asked for any compensation so the £50.00 was a bonus. My aim was for justice, and we got it for a change !
