Re: A Bank that doesnt accept Cash
At one time it had to be 10 years of not using an account with more than £1 before it went "dormant" and even then the account was not actually closed off. It was just sort of sleeping and could be re-awakened by putting money in - hence the name "dormant". Accounts of less than £1 were classed as "sundries" and amalgamated into one big account, BUT even with those there was a record of the original account number and the amount involved. Closing an account with more than £1 in and then accusing you of fraud because you decided to used your own bank account sounds absolutely ludicrous, but not unexpected. It was things like that which put me off working there. The staff have no control over the policies and many of them will agree with your opinion but there is nothing they can do about it. It's all down to profit and apparently it is not profitable to maintain an account which just sits there for any length of time with a small balance.
