A pint & a moan ?

Well are we like this ? How accurate / inaccurate is this study really ? Do you have anything to add to this that you would say defines the "English". I'm pretty sure our English speaking neighbours (Irish, Scots & Welsh) will certainly have some points to make on us "English" & our ways.

I can't say that I entirely disagree with that report, although they left out brewing up.

In my experience, talking about the weather and asking about cups of tea form 90% of conversational openings.

I also think we have subdivisions too, the eternally optimistic with their "Mustn't grumble, could be worse !" or the flip side the "I told you so ! but you wouldn't listen would you !"

They must have interviewed the 5,000 people in Walford.

LOL.. does seem outdated.. the days of blokes going down the pub for a pint and a moan are long gone.. could be one of the reasons for pubs closing.
