Surely there are regulations for the disposal company to adhere to and checks carried out by the relevant authority.

Some paperwork found on site shows Feb 2012, but now that it has been discovered that there are buried bales, it may well have been going on for longer.

You would have been praising HBC last year for sorting it out

Not if they'd taken so flaming long I wouldn't, you forget what my stance is now on all flaming politicians not just the useless ones who are now in charge

So what's your stance on the useless one's wanting to take charge?
I would have thought that a calamity such as this would actually have all parties working together to sort this out, after all, if what we read is true, this isn't so much a political cock up as a deliberate and illegal act by some greedy businessmen.
(allegedly).
So if on Wednesday the clean up does begin perhaps a little praise for all involved no matter what their petty allegiances, (I mean parties), may be.

Yes, and until the aftermath when all the Council will be able to discuss the why's and wherefores of this you are no wiser than anyone else and yet you are already laying the blame along your traditional lines.
At the moment your mate seems to have been working hard to resolve the situation, well done him, but probably it will turn out to have been a team effort, Well done to all involved both in public view and behind the scenes, in a very tricky situation...
Oh, and yah boo sucks to the man that just jumps to his own political conclusions, (no matter how faulty his keyboard may be).

I've laughed at many of your comments Jay, somehow though that one was perhaps the nearest you'll come to admitting what you said was wrong both politically and perhap's, (only perhap's because unlike you, I don't know who is to blame), factually.
Maybe that's why it wasn't very funny.

Prior to this dumping incident, it's been going on for years.
One lodge next to Cocker's used to be luminous orange jelly, that you could run across if you were quick.
When we lived up Stanhill forty years ago, our neighbour always said she knew good weather was coming, if Cocker's stank extra stongly.

Re: A plague of flies
i dont know about whos in charge and who isnt but Peter Britcliffe has been extreemly helpfull and put a lot of effort into getting the agencies to move their backsides. Not one to praise politico's but credit where credit is due although he does live pretty close to the site so does have a small interest in it himself.
i dont know if he has to decalre self interest in it at the next council meeting as i dont know the rules

Ya Rindi when I was young if you lived up new lane it stank of DDT, and the brook which ran through what we knew as the Swanny was always full of suds and the stones in the brook were the cleanest in the country. Then it became illegal to dump their waste in the brook

Re: A plague of flies
Cats are now catching rats in the New Lane area.
One woman had two delivered to her overnight.
