A Shark on Cleveleys beach.......der der der der

My son was walking Sam the dog and spotted this dead shark on the beach !!!!

Pretty scary , but some are vegetarians feeding on plankton.

Is it a basking shark.......they are common in South Wales and also Cornwall...their skin feels like emeryboard.

did he report it? i would have done, so the coast guards can keep an eye out for more and preserve the species if needs be

Looking at the pawprint to compare the size, it looks like it could be a basking shark......they are 3-4 feet in size.

Its not a Basking Shark.To me it looks like one of the breeds of Blue shark,which can be found in South Wales and Cornish waters.

Basking Sharks have huge great mouths Margaret for when they feed on the plankton.

Oh, well......we found one on a beach in Cornwall and someone told us it was a basking Shark....you live and learn......I defer to your knowledge

I went to cleveleys on saturday, didnt get down the beach though, so I wouldnt have seen any sharks, except for the ones on Blackpool prom on the way past!
