Abortions at GP’s surgeries ‘On offer in weeks’
Did any body watch "this morning", this morning.
Women will be able to have abortions at GP surgeries across the country as early as this Spring, it has emerged. Abortion charities say the policy change will make it easier and more convenient for women who are under nine weeks pregnant to terminate.
Whats your opinion on this subject??

Re: Abortions at GP’s surgeries ‘On offer in weeks’
Strange that we consider ending, often healthy, lives at this stage yet the law forbids ending the intolerable suffering of terminally ill patients. Skewed logic, to my mind.

Re: Abortions at GP’s surgeries ‘On offer in weeks’
good news there been an express lane put in for those that want them and also better for the women not to have to be on the maternity ward while they undergo their procedure
if a woman wants rid then it should be made as fast and easy as possible for them to do so wether you like it or not its their choice and no one elses

Re: Abortions at GP’s surgeries ‘On offer in weeks’
Termination of pregnancy is always a contentious issue.......this service has been available at a local hospital for a long time now(about 9 or 10 years) and this type of procedure is never done on a maternity ward....it has been done on a short stay gynaecological ward along with other 'minor' ops and procedures.
Personally, I am all for whatever makes it more effective for the woman in question....and it does not do us any favours to sit in judgement on women who want to avail themselves of this service. There but for the grace.......etc.

Re: Abortions at GP’s surgeries ‘On offer in weeks’
exactly margaret and better put than what i did but if a woman can have this proceedure done away from the maternity wards then surely that is better for them making a difficult decision easier to deal with rather than adding extra guilt by sticking them amongst a ward full of newborns and pregnant mums
saying that if you wanted this procedure doing at peelhouse medical center/pals then your child would be 12 by the time you got an appointment

yeah, look what happened to that person we know, all because she was made to wait all those weeks...if someone wants it doing then it should be done straight away

Re: Abortions at GP’s surgeries ‘On offer in weeks’
i think people have misconceptions about what an abortion actually entales, under so many weeks all that it is, is two tablets to be taken, there is no medical equipment needed until a certain amount of weeks, i see no reason for a surgery NOT to be able to give out these tablets
i dont think its scandalous whatsoever

Re: Abortions at GP’s surgeries ‘On offer in weeks’
Just read about prenatal DNA testing in today's Sunday Times, which I didn't know was possible.
Prenatal DNA test for babies of affairs - Times Online
Jeremy Kyle doesn't off his guests this test, they have to wait until after the baby's born to discover 'wuz da daddi'.

Re: Abortions at GP’s surgeries ‘On offer in weeks’

Re: Abortions at GP’s surgeries ‘On offer in weeks’
Terminations are another 'service' that doctors are allowed to refuse to deal with on religious beliefs (white and coloured). A friend was made to feel to feel humliated and 'the lowest ofthe low' just for suggesting that she wasnt sure if she would be able to keep the baby.
Yes terminations are a contentious subject but I think there should be more support for the woman that has to make the decision. Especially in this day and age when we all complain about the bad behaviour of some youths and the fact that their parents dont have an interest in them.

Re: Abortions at GP’s surgeries ‘On offer in weeks’
sorry , but I'm amazed that so many people think that abortion is just another form of birth control .....this was the norm in the dark days of Soviet Russia where other forms of birth control wern't available , absolutly no reason for it be available in this day and age in 20th centuary Britian
