Accident

outside the alma ... theyve shut the road outside the alma .. bus has turned round in southwood drive. sending cars the back way round southwood drive etc.

It's on teletext this morning that an elderly man was knocked down and kiled by a van there last night & that the driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

I cant find any other details about it, just here:

and that says basically what Accymad said. Its a bad place to cross in general is Manchester Road, but I think that where this crash happened there is a traffic island just a few hundered yards further up.
