Accrington House Fire Inquest
Today was the inquest of the fire on Tremellen St. The findings are horrific. What a crying shame.

Re: Accrington House Fire Inquest
Its an absolute shame, how on earth could he kill his family like that in a my way or high way kind of attitude a really terrifying thought indeed.
I hope the survivng family can move forward after this.

Re: Accrington House Fire Inquest
As well as great sadness for the family, we should also remember the fire service, who though they probably see many, many tragic things whilst carrying out their job, more than likely also had to witness terrible scenes at this family's house, all whilst carrying out their duties in a professional manner.
Thank you.

Re: Accrington House Fire Inquest
It's so hard to understand how anyone can take the lives of their family, especially such lovely daughters. Ironic, and perhaps poetic justice, that he probably suffered more physically than they did but I agree that it's a pity he didn't survive to stand trial and to face the family and friends of those whose lives he ended so cruelly.
It must have been terrible for the firemen on that day.

Re: Accrington House Fire Inquest
I guess for once I'm lost for words, teh poor guy who was so tortured to do such a thing, teh family itself for the situation itself and teh family, friends and services who will live with this tragedy for the rest of their lives
to all involved, my thoughts go with you

Re: Accrington House Fire Inquest
so sad, its hard enough to move on from any loss, not sure its a good thing that inquests are publicised by media? perhaps it would be a bit easier for people if they were private to the surviving relatives, at least then the descision could be for them to make?

Re: Accrington House Fire Inquest
I can see your point Cashman, and then again I can see the point of friends of the family who wouldn't want to intrude on grief by bringing up the subject with the remaining relatives but who still feel the need for some sort of closure of their own. It's a difficult one.
I admire Entwisi for being able to feel sympathy for the guy who was in such a turmoil that he was driven to do this. It's so hard to feel anything positive towards him.

Me either in all honesty & nearly was put in his wifes situ myself - i feel very sick to the core, this man was posessive & very extremely selfish, because he couldnt do the decent thing or live without them to hiself so it was a case of if i cant have em no one else will - so i'll take me with me cos I & no thought for them at all....grrrrrr!! He should of got help for his problems or done something about his own issues without doing this to his family!!
Sorry as harsh as it is its the truth of it!! I feel so much for her family left behind to come to terms with this.

Re: Accrington House Fire Inquest
So the fact that he was mentally unbalanced at the time means nothing? Should we not help people with mental problems? We all have differing levels of stress management he was tipped (Rightly or wrongly) over his and was therefore acting in what would legally be termed diminished responsibility. i.e. he was(probably) not in control of rational thinking.

There is help for people with mental problems & altho if he had mental health problems it still doesnt give him the right to kill anyone!!! There are people with a variety or severe mental health issues & dont go to that level, personally i think his main problem is "control freak syndrome" as i explained above. Unfortunatley mental heath issues are a lot harder to diagnose especially its also well hidden also no cures for except life on medication & cognitive therapies. easy to suggest or to comment but the reality is much different & very hard especially on the family as well as the patient but theres not much support for families coping with it. [trust me i know!]
