Re: Accyweb elections

Doesn't there need to be a section on the site made first?

Re: Accyweb elections

My political manifesto, if I was ever foolhardy to get involved with that murky world, was laid out in post #5, of this similar thread.

I am voting for the Monster Raving Rindy Party at the next elections as I agree with all of your manifesto.

Just a couple of points

Seeing as we don't even spend 100% of car tax on the road system why increase road tax to fund public transport. As soon as people stopped using cars you would loose your funding for public transport?

Public transport is fine in big cities but because I have to travel 75 miles a day to a job of my vocation (because there are no such jobs locally) I can not get to work for 6am except by using a car. Please can I have a subsidy for previous Governments killing off this Countries industry and forcing me to work so far away. No I am not prepared to move closer, I could not be involved with the park then

I can't really offer only you a travel subsidy, but I have found a job for you closer to home.

Jobs - Driver / Team Leader (Waste Collections)

Not perfect for you, I'll admit, but the job as Peter Britcliffe's P.A. seems to have recently been filled.

I have to say that before learning to drive I spent hours travelling the six miles between my home and the hospital where I trained. This meant that i had a very long day every day....as sometimes buses would just not turn up.....not good when you are trying to uphold a necessary service.

You say trying to be funny but his PA recently left HBC to work with her husband. Maybe you could get the job, it has been posted many times the council has some shaky principals.

I agree with both you and Neil, for some people a car is a necessity, and not a luxury.

In cities it's so much easier to rely on public transport.

When I lived in London I was at work, via the tube, before I could have got my car out on to the main road at the end of my street.

Hence I never had a car down there.

Will the 'shakey principals' (sic) mean I'm more likey to get the job, because I've got Parkinson's.

I don't believe in positive discrimination, so fear I'll have to turn it down.

(For anyone else who was unlucky enough to attend Clitheroe Royal Grammar School principled- WordWeb dictionary definition)
