Accyweb elections
Could I make a suggestion for a temporary section in Anything Goes,
Idea is as follows
Basically those that can be bothered write up an election manifesto with how they would run the country, then at a predetermined time we have an election. The manifestos should be realistic and you can challange if you thought it couldn't be backed up within each persons thread. e.g. its useless saying "I'd abolish tax" as its clearly not viable, saying I'd drop rates to 10% for up to £30 with an increase in higher rate tax to compensate is.
anyone think its a good idea? I have a basic idea of what I'd do if running the country, i think it would be good to see what others think or even to see new ideas.

More likely to get long winded replies from our home grown megalomaniacs!

Re: Accyweb elections
Unless you are a fascist I don't think you'd get too many votes, so it's not really worth the effort of writing up a manifesto but mine would probably involve a purely british britain, leave the EU so we can have the death penalty, castration of paedophiles and homosexuals... sounding a bit too much like nazi germany already...
I don't think I can meet the needs of Accrington without turning into Hitler. Nevermind

I remember you posting that you'd joined your college's LGBT (Lesbian/Gay/Bi/Trandsgender) group.
Can we look forward to your own sterilisation?
Post the date, and we'll start a get well soon thread for you in Anything Goes.

Re: Accyweb elections
Now do I take a conservative (with a small c) approach or do I radicalise the whole tax system, ohhh the possibilities.

You mean you don't advocate castrating anyone with less than heterosexual tendencies ?

Perhaps the same way you've chosen to forget to comment on the fact that you posted that you'd joined the LGBT group, and yet also called for the mass sterilisation of those same people?

Re: Accyweb elections
I have split this thread and moved some of the more funny comments to a new thread on a members request .

Your idea does have some merit and it would be an interesting exercise to see how responding members view their country and what they would do about it.
At the head of every thread you can read:

I recently read a comment in another thread that stated, “we don’t do serious here.” I think that that says it all.
Sadly, as has already happened, the concept has been hijacked by some with what they probably see as witty repartee. Par for the forum I guess! Fortunately mick has weeded out most of the silly banter and dumped them in another thread so that this thread might just have a chance of achieving its aims.
The other sad part is that if someone is fool enough to enter into the idea with a seriousness that it deserves, if it ever does come to a vote, some people will probably vote according to who wrote their manifesto rather than on the content.
But I’m willing to stick my head above the parapet so I will give it a go.
Get your knives out and get them sharpened members and let’s see where this takes us.

Sadly although you don't seem to like the site, the members, or the standards we enjoy falling to, you keep coming back.
Why? There are thousands of sites out there one of them must come somewhere close to your lofty standards why not go there?
Just to let you know, the person that requested that the post be split was me.
I think the thread could have some mileage, but if you are going to post in it we may as well abandon all hope, we have already had many, many posts from you telling us what is wrong with the world and also accywebs members,it would make a refreshing change if you could start a thread telling us what is good about the world and also accywebs members, though somehow i think it would be your shortest post ever.

If I didn’t like this forum I wouldn’t drop in to have a read now and then, let alone actually post in it. If you don’t like my posts then the solution is simple – ignore them and don’t respond in your puerile way.
Look at it this way, if I didn’t make my posts you and some others wouldn’t have anyone to have a go at and would have to pick on some other unfortunate soul. Oh! I forgot you already do. To those who disagree with you.
Oh! I do beg your manureship’s pardon. I wasn’t aware that I mustn’t post my view on what is wrong with the world or this forum because it doesn’t meet with your approval. Well you know my answer to that.

Couldn't agree more Less, this is a great site, I am on quite a few sites but nothing comes close to Accy Web. I vistit around 6 sites on a regular basis and I spend three times as long on here that all the others put together. You don't miss it until you can't get access, I know I did
