All over bar the shouting .
Well, the name tapes are all ironed in, the shirts are pressed, the packed lunch made and the poor , nervous child is in the bath ! She has poured virtually a full bottle of "relaxing" bath goo in and I don't think she will sleep well tonight!
I can't remember being nervous before starting secondary school but I guess I must have been. On the plus side she is a good foot taller than I was and not still wearing a vest !
I don't know who feels worse; me or her !
Seems like only yesterday when she put on her first Peel Park uniform.

Re: All over bar the shouting .
Got twice the excitement in this house because 2 of them are starting 'big' school. It's been building for a few days now, the fact they are both female means tempers get a bit frayed

She will be okay, you will probably spend all day tomorrow worrying for nothing. Wish her luck from me and tell her just to enjoy it

Re: All over bar the shouting .
Aaw bless em. Going up to 'big school' is quite an experience but most schools have an excellent settling in program these days so they'll probably soon all feel at home. I have a friend who has one starting at Hollins tomorrow but she already knows some on the pupils there so that's a head start for her.

Mine's pretty much on her own ; the only one from Peel Park going to her new school ! Sure she will be fine once she settles in.

Thats my biggest worry ( yep the cotton wool is still wrapped around her ) My daughter didn't go to junior school over here and is like me, quiet until she feels comfortable with people. Hopefully by the end of the week she will have met some new friends.

Re: All over bar the shouting .
Well I have to wait till next year dispite my daughter being eleven. The school year up hear runs 1st March to 28th Feb so being born on the 2nd of March means she will hit secondary school at 12 though most of her pals many of them very nervy and in some cases jealous have gone up. Mind you they have been back 2 weeks and all seems well at the moment.

Re: All over bar the shouting .
My little petal started primary school today . She's only just turned 4 and looked so tiny in her little uniform. She was so excited about going, she ran in this morning, was bursting with news when she came home and is just as excited about going back tomorrow. It is lovely to share all this with her. I would like to wish good luck to everyone whose child is starting primary/secondary school this week and I hope all goes well for them.

aw bless,my little girl had just turned 4 when she started last year and she was the youngest in the school and the only girl to start,i have been telling her that when she goes back that she has to be a big girl and show all the new kids around,i think they look too small when they first start and you can see the confusion in their little eyes wondering whats going on

Re: All over bar the shouting .
Reece was actually 5 when he started primary school, he didnt start till the 14th of september (back in 2001) and his birthday was just three days before...he is now the oldest child in the school
he started school 3 days after the 9/11 disaster which was on his 5th birthday
